When to Seek Emergency Help

Go to the emergency room or call 911 if you or someone you know:

  • Is thinking about suicide or has a plan to do so

  • Is threatening to hurt or kill themselves or others

  • Has access to means to harm themselves or others

  • Is experiencing psychosis (seeing or hearing things that aren't there)

  • Has severely erratic or violent behavior

  • Is unable to care for themselves (not eating, drinking, or sleeping for days)

💙 For Family & Friends

If someone you care about is in crisis:

  • Stay calm and listen without judgment

  • Ask directly if they're thinking about suicide

  • Don't leave them alone if you believe they're in immediate danger

  • Remove any means of self-harm if possible

  • Call 988 or emergency services for guidance

  • Take threats seriously—don't dismiss them
